Podiatrist

Andrea is our Extended Scope Podiatrist who has been with Physio and Therapies since 2005. She is experienced in musculo-skeletal conditions in the foot and has completed her surgical training, based in a Podiatric Surgery Unit in Yorkshire.
Andrea’s main focus in Private Practice is assessment, diagnosis and management of foot complaints. She prides herself in ensuring the patient understands their foot problem – and all aspects of managing that problem; from simple footwear changes, activity modifications, strapping techniques, insoles, braces, exercises through to injection therapy and potential surgical options. She is qualified and experienced in injection therapy and the use of ultrasound for guiding injections and imaging – and this is also available at Physio and Therapies.
Andrea has been involved in hundreds of surgical procedures throughout her training– and within the clinic offers partial and total nail removals under local anaesthesia and minor procedures such as ganglion aspiration and verruca needling.
Throughout her training Andrea has worked within a high-risk diabetic foot unit – and has completed advanced training in Vascular assessment and diagnosis.. She offers diabetic and vascular foot assessments in private practice including a GP report and advice around management and preventative measures.
Andrea has completed extensive rotations as part of her surgical training and has presented at National and regional conferences as well as having her first research paper published in May 2019.
Andrea works part time at the clinic and part time in a hospital, she offers appointments here on Thursdays. Her goals in private practice are to develop her services further to provide a wider range of treatments and assessments for musculo-skeletal conditions – including plasma rich protein injections, extracorporeal shockwave therapy and to introduce a 3D gait analysis system to the clinic.
