John graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2009. He worked in the NHS at Whiston and St Helens hospitals for several years including orthopaedics, musculoskeletal physiotherapy and a year in rheumatology.
Prior to working at Physio&Therapies he worked in private practice in Burnley for 12 years. Initially specialising in whiplash and complex injuries related to road traffic and other accidents. He also treated a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries.
His clinical interests include chronic neck and lower back pain, shoulder dysfunction and sports injuries around the knee and ankle.
John has been using medical acupuncture for over 10 years including electro- acupuncture which is particularly helpful in healing and reducing chronic pain.
He has a hands on approach using: sports massage, joint mobilisation, acupuncture, laser and taping, to encourage healing, lessen pain and improve movement. As well as exercises to maintain movement and increase strength.
Basically getting his patients back to what they enjoy doing!
John loves walking, running and cycling in the hills and spending time with his wife, three teenage kids, Meg the cocker poo, two cats, eight chickens and cockerel Albert!
