Robbie is the neuro-specialist physiotherapist working from the practice. He qualified in 2022 at Northumbria University, Newcastle, and began his career as a Physiotherapist within the East Lancashire Hospital Trust. His passion for Stroke and Neuro Physiotherapy developed during his rotation with the Rakehead Community Team based at Burnley General Hospital. During this time, he worked with a wide range of complex cases, treating individuals with various conditions — from long-term progressive disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease to more acute traumatic brain and spinal injuries.
Robbie currently works with the inpatient stroke rehabilitation team at Pendle Community Hospital. There, he supports individuals recovering from stroke through a combination of clinical education, therapeutic interventions based on normal movement, and task-specific, repetitive strength and coordination training. The aim is always to help each person achieve goals that are meaningful to them and their individual lifestyle.
His specialist interests include the treatment of progressive neurological conditions such as MS and Parkinson’s disease. Robbie is especially passionate about empowering individuals to explore and implement effective self-management strategies between therapy sessions, with the goal of improving strength, function, and overall quality of life.
Outside of work, Robbie enjoys going to the gym, playing football, and cooking. He is a devoted Burnley FC fan and is always up for a chat about the team—although Blackburn fans should be warned: therapy is available, but football talk is off the table!
