Sarah Fay Taylor
Integrative Counsellor & Eco-therapist

I am an Integrative Counsellor (MSc) and Ecotherapist, with a distinction at Master’s degree level from Bangor University. I support individuals through a variety of life changes or transitions; including health, sexuality or intimacy, relationships, grief or loss and bereavement. Life’s changes can affect multiple aspects of our lives and experiences; this can be overwhelming. I offer a warm, accepting space for you to bring all of your experience.

My many years of therapeutic working is diverse and extensive. I work in a non-pathologising way – what does this mean? It means I work with the individual’s relationship to their mind, emotions, and spirit through counselling and therapy, rather than working with or prioritising a diagnosis or label (though you are welcome to discuss these with me if helpful to you). This frees up space for the many parts that make us human to be present in counselling; including the parts we may feel uncomfortable sharing in our wider relationships. It is my aim to create a warm, accepting and empowering atmosphere to facilitate your healing potential.

I bring a variety of approaches and influences from my training and experience to support your counselling needs. I work with you to explore and understand blocks, barriers or difficulties you encounter that impact your mental or emotional health. It is my wish to help you find ways to live a more meaningful, peaceful and authentic life. This may include, for example, managing stress reactions, adapting to change, or exploring a past or current event of emotional significance.

My practice is influenced by modern neuroscience, Buddhist mindfulness practices, depth psychology, creative practice and nervous system healing for trauma care.
I am person-centred and work from a trauma-informed and relational approach. This means collaboration with you is central to how I work. We will work at a pace and depth that you can manage for your comfort, whilst allowing for challenge and change, where you invite that.

I previously worked for over a decade as a Therapeutic Gardener & Educator in urban gardens or community spaces. My work was linked with NHS-funded health and social wellbeing projects. This experience I blend with counselling, for those who wish to take their therapeutic journey outdoors, for example with ‘walk-and-talk’ counselling or in a community garden setting. If you are interested in incorporating the natural world into our work together, at any stage, I can work with you indoors firstly, to design a programme that works for you and your abilities and wishes.

For many, the transformative powers of being truly heard by someone who is separate from their other relationships, can be healing enough. Together, we begin here.

I am open to all who feel drawn to work with me. Please contact me if you have a query or wish to discuss your requirements. I have frequent experience of working with the below individuals, communities or issues:
• LGBTQIA+ individuals
• Neurodiversity; including ADHD, Autism and Highly Sensitive People or Empaths
