What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a natural state of deep relaxation in which the conscious mind is ‘stilled’ to allow communication to take place with the unconscious mind. You are not asleep. In fact, you will experience a heightened state of awareness. This heightened awareness allows suggestions to work powerfully, for your own good, in a way that is not possible by communicating with the rational and skeptical part of the mind.

What happens when I am Hypnotised?

You’ll be surprised at how informal and relaxing the session can be. Before any treatment takes place, we’ll discuss the history of your problem or what it is that you’d like to achieve. This allows me to give a treatment that is personal to you.

Hypnotherapy will take place whilst you are sitting in a relaxed position in a comfortable chair. If you are at all concerned about the session, then you are very welcome to be accompanied by a friend. I will talk to you over a period of time, during which you will reach a pleasant state of relaxation, at which point therapy becomes effective.

Is Hypnotherapy safe?

Yes, perfectly safe. During Hypnotherapy you cannot be made or encouraged to do anything that is against your will. You will always be aware and in control and can end the session whenever you like.
