Clare gained her MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling from the University of Leeds, and is a member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists). She works with individuals, couples, and children, and offers various group sessions.
Clare has previously counselled with charities such as Mosaic II (working with sexual abuse) and Family Action, and currently also works with TalkThru in the area of pregnancy loss and birth trauma.
She has completed further training with the Foundation for Infant Loss to support this work. When appropriate Clare uses creative methods to support her clients, including for example Lego, creative journaling, cards and images, drawing and writing. Use of these are guided by the client and what they feel they would find useful to help them express themselves.
Clare also has 15 years experience as a complementary therapist, and offers Indian Head Massage and Hopi Ear Candling here at Physio and Therapies. She is a member of the professional body the FHT, Federation of Holistic Therapists. Outside of work Clare is an avid cinema goer and is involved with supporting Hebden Bridge Picture House as part of their ‘Friends’. She also enjoys running with her son, and can be found at the parkrun and out in the countryside round here.
